Privacy Policy

This privacy policy explains what data Vid2MP3 ("we", "us") collects when you use the tool or read the site, what we do with it, and how long it's kept. We've written it in plain English and we've kept the data we collect to the minimum needed to run the service.

Summary

  • You don't need an account to use the converter. We don't collect names, email addresses, or payment details.
  • Source URLs you submit and any uploaded files are processed in memory and on disk only for as long as needed to produce your output (max 15 minutes).
  • We log basic technical request metadata (IP address, timestamp, endpoint) for abuse prevention and rate-limiting only. These logs are auto-rotated and not used to profile users.
  • Editorial pages (guides, comparisons) include third-party display advertising and analytics. The tool UI itself does not.

Data we process

When you use the converter

  • The source URL or uploaded file you provide. Used only to produce your output. Deleted from disk within 15 minutes of completion.
  • Format and quality choices (e.g. MP3 320 kbps). Not retained after the job finishes.
  • Your IP address and request timestamp, kept in rotating server logs (max 14 days) for rate-limiting and abuse detection.
  • An anonymous job identifier assigned to your conversion. Used only to track job state and to authorise your download via a short-lived signed token.

When you read editorial pages

  • Aggregated analytics (page views, referrer, country, device class) via a privacy-respecting analytics provider. We don't fingerprint you.
  • Display advertising cookies served by ad networks subject to their own policies. You can opt out via your browser's "Do Not Track" / Global Privacy Control signal.

Data we do not collect

  • Names, email addresses, phone numbers, or payment details (we don't take payments).
  • Account credentials (we don't have accounts).
  • Audio or video fingerprints of your converted files.

Retention

  • Converted files: deleted automatically within 15 minutes of completion. Cancellation deletes the file immediately.
  • Server logs: rotated and overwritten after 14 days.
  • Aggregated analytics: retained in pre-aggregated form indefinitely; no individual visitor records.

Third parties

The converter itself runs on our own infrastructure. Editorial pages may load third-party scripts from analytics and advertising providers — when they do, they are loaded with the lowest-possible priority and are subject to their own privacy policies.

Your rights

Because we don't maintain user accounts and the only personal-ish data we hold is short-lived server logs keyed by IP, individual access / deletion requests are limited in scope. If you would like us to confirm whether a specific IP appears in our current log window, or to delete it, email [email protected].

Children

The site is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect any personal information from children.

Changes

We'll update this policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be flagged on the homepage and reflected in the "last updated" date above.
